As a Computer Science Team coach I am very proud of this years team. They have made some big changes this year. More students joined the team, we were more active by going to UIL competitions, tried some more fundraisers (the usual game night but a vending machine they made as well), and now their own website. We sent two teams to the Lockheed Martin CodeQuest competition in Dallas, and two teams to the HP CodeWars competition in Houston as well. Now you can see why we are doing more fundraising, traveling plus room and board are not free!

I think next year they will do a pretty cool arcade machine with previous students video games, we will see how hard that will be though. Even though we still aren’t killing all the big schools at competition, I think they are learning a lot and having fun. Having fun while programming is important I think, which is why I use video games as their final projects. I hope next year we get the team even bigger, and are more active during non-competition time as well.
